The upcoming edition of the 'TotalEnergies' Africa Cup of Nations is set to take place in 2027, co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. I am confident that this tournament will achieve a resounding success. Subsequent editions of the Africa Cup of Nations are scheduled for 2028, 2031, and 2033. The FIFA World Cup will be held in 2030, and in accordance with FIFA's tradition, no Africa Cup of Nations or other continental football association's national team final tournament will be held in the year of the World Cup. The Africa Cup of Nations is not just a football gala; it is also a celebration of Africa's diverse cultures, customs, and traditions. It brings together the people of the 54 African nations, African diaspora abroad, and friends from around the globe. The decision by the African Football Confederation's Executive Committee aligns with the greatest interests of African football and its 54 member associations, and it will significantly propel the long-term development of the sport in Africa.
